Kumpan Sweden AB

HR Manager

03.2019 - Ongoing • 5 years 2 months

Emma joined Kumpan at a time when HR was considered important but still undeveloped. She immediately began identifying their needs, improving existing processes, and establishing missing documentation. Her role quickly evolved into a mix of strategic and operational HR responsibilities, focusing on building a solid foundation for the HR function’s future growth.

Kumpan has continued to grow, making recruitment a key focus. This includes strategic work like refining processes, developing methods to attract candidates (e.g., establishing SoMe accounts to enhance Kumpan’s Employer Brand), and building relationships with potential partners. It also involves operational tasks such as candidate sourcing, interviewing, and the hiring process.

Recently, Emma has been focusing on competence development in Growth Marketing and acting as a project manager for internal agency projects. With nearly 10 years of experience in the IT industry and extensive project management skills, she naturally stepped into a more active role in project management at the agency.

Her current responsibilities at Kumpan, apart from project management, include maintaining the HR function and all its aspects.

Tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing and maintaining policies and employee handbooks.
  • Supporting managers and leadership in all personnel and employment law matters.
  • Overall responsibility for the work environment.
  • Onboarding & Offboarding.
  • Strategic and operational recruitment procedures.
  • Planning and organizing team activities like kick-offs, events, after-work gatherings, conferences, etc.
  • Ongoing research on market demand, industry standards, and new regulations, and adapting to these changes.

Key achievements

  • Developed efficient processes in various HR areas, including onboarding, offboarding, Employer Branding, and work environment management.
  • Researched and implemented several HRM systems focusing on increased profitability and efficiency.
  • Principal responsibility for developing Kumpan’s recruitment process, resulting in the hiring of >25 new employees.
  • Developed a salary policy with corresponding criteria and a structure for the “employee year”, including employee surveys, performance reviews, salary discussions, etc.
  • Negotiated a new pension scheme beneficial for both Kumpan and its employees.
